    Abaxis Piccolo Xpress

Sometimes, big things come in small packages.

The small but mighty Piccolo Xpress delivers exceptional accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility, time after time. The Abaxis Piccolo Xpress delivers real-time blood chemistry diagnostic information to care providers and their patients.

Get lab-accurate diagnostic testing… without the waiting

With accuracy and precision comparable to larger (and more expensive) laboratory analyzers and the most comprehensive waived menu on a single platform, the Piccolo Xpress features:

    • 16 total panels available
    • 12 minute results
    • 11 CLIA-waived panels available

Diagnose and treat patients within a single office visit

With the Piccolo Xpress’s 12-minute test time, healthcare providers are drastically improving patient care and support.

Diagnose and treat patients within the span of one visit, which:

    • Reduces costs and improves patient management
    • Streamlines efficiencies
    • Increases time to treatment
    • And promotes overall patient satisfaction

The menu features 31 common blood chemistry tests, ranging from:

    • Liver, kidney and metabolic functions
    • Lipids
    • Electrolytes
    • Other specialty analytes for routine tests
    • General health screening
    • Chronic conditions

Get the job done in three simple steps

The Piccolo Xpress chemistry analyzer lets healthcare professionals conduct routine, multi-chemistry panels using 0.1cc of whole blood, plasma, or serum (thatès only 3 to 4 drops!). The chemistry analyzer system uses single-use reagent discs, containing up to 14 chemistry tests.

    Step 1: Add your sample

    • Collect 100uL of your sample: whole blood, serum, or plasma
    • Transfer it into the self-contained reagent disc: The single-use, disposable disc contains all the reagents and diluent needed to perform a complete, multi-test chemistry panel

    Step 2: Insert the disc

    • Follow the easy and intuitive touch screen commands
    • Press “Analyze Sample”
    • Place the disc into the analyzer drawer
    • Enter the information requested and wait for the Piccolo Xpress to work its magic
    • Wait 12 minutes or so, and your results will be ready!

    Step 3: Collect your results

    • Complete panel results are available on the full color display, printed on a self-adhesive roll-tape, and transmitted to an external printer, computer, or LIS/EMR system. This includes patient demographics, chemistry concentrations, reference ranges, sample integrity indices, and iQC.
    • The Piccolo Xpress stores up to 5000 patient results

No special operating skills or training required

The Piccolo Xpress is a fully-automated system that requires no specialized training. With…

    • Only 0.1cc whole blood, serum, or plasma required for testing
    • Self-calibrates with every test run - no manual data entry
    • Full-color touch screen and intuitive user interface
    • Results are printed on a self-adhesive hard copy or via electronic transfer, allowing immediate access to critical information at the point-of-care
    • Large memory capacity stores up to 5000 patient records
    • Externally accessible bi-directional USB data transfer technology facilitates EMR connectivity

    Rely on sound results

    • Centrifugal action mixes the sample and reagents in a disposable, self-contained disc (reducing procedural errors)
    • Comparable accuracy and precision to large, more expensive laboratory analyzers
    • iQC system performs continuous quality control checks on every run (eliminating daily control testing requirements)
    • Every self-contained reagent disc is barcoded for automatic self-calibration

A wide range of CLIA-waived panels, to increase your on-site diagnostic accuracy and abilities

Increase your onsite diagnostic accuracy and abilities with:

    • Comprehensive metabolic panel
    • Basic metabolic panel
    • Lipid panel
    • Liver panel
    • General chemistry
    • Electrolyte panel
    • Kidney check
    • Renal function panel
    • Metlyte panel
    • Hepatic function panel
    • Biochemistry panel
