Automated drug testing is too expensive and complicated to run in-house?

If you send at least 10 panels a day to a lab for analysis, you should get a chemical analyzer and start running the tests in-house.

Compared to Point-of-Care (POC) cups / strips or send outs. Your Indiko Plus automation eliminates the risk of human error and subjectivity that leads to lost information and retests. You have the flexibility to adjust drug panels for randomized testing and adapt to the changing drug trends in your region.

As a convenient alternative to urine testing, collect oral fluid with the FDA-approved Oral Eze, and add oral fluid assays to your screening program.

    What is automated drug testing?

Automated drug testing integrates all steps involved in monitoring participants for drug use:

    • scheduling a test,
    • tracking chain of custody,
    • barcoding specimens,
    • testing the specimen for drug use,
    • reporting test results electronically.

Test results can be printed or securely shared via encrypted email to designated recipients such as probation officers, coordinators, and other personnel or agencies.

    Fast and accurate drug testing

The Indiko Plus analyzer is a finely tuned machine that automates the drug testing process of urine specimens and oral fluid assays.

    • First results in 15 min, once the instrument is up and running, your next results are available in less than 30 seconds
    • Run up to 350 tests/hour; 54 specimens per run
    • Randomly test 20 different drugs at any one time
    • Customize your own testing panels
    • Add specimens, access reagents during a run, without interrupting ongoing analysis

Create your own test panel from 25 urine tests for street drugs or prescription drugs. Add Specimen Valid Tests (SVTs) to monitor whether a specimen has been tampered with.

Oral fluid testing for drugs of abuse

There is a constant passive diffusion, an exchange of electrolytes and enzymes, between blood and saliva. That is why drugs may be detected in oral fluid short after administration and absorption into blood.

Top 3 reasons to include oral fluid testing in your drug of abuse screening:

    1. Oral fluid collection is easy, fast and non-invasive. Collect saliva samples with FDA-approved Oral Eze in an observed open environment. There is no chance for sample tempering and substitution.

    2. The detection window for oral fluid analysis is within 48 hours and as early as 30 minutes post marijuana use. This is important for drugs like THC because it can stay in urine for weeks after use.

    3. The results from oral fluid assays are comparable to urine tests and are in 100% agreement with the LC-MS/MS confirmatory

Validation test against specimen tampering and adulteration

Creatinine Test: Dilution is the most common form of specimen tampering by drinking lots of water prior to urine collection. Specimens could also be diluted by adding tea, apple juice, or other liquids. Any significant drops in a participant’s creatinine levels over time, could point to a tampered specimen, despite a negative drug result.

Gravity-Detect™ Test: Normal urine has a higher specific gravity. The lower the specific gravity, the closer its consistency is to water, indicating possible dilution and/or substitution.

pH-Detect™ Test: Normal urine should have a pH between 4.7 and 7.8. Urine adulterated with bleach or ammonia will produce a basic pH (pH 11 or greater), while urine adulterated with lemon juice and vinegar will produce an acidic pH (pH 3 or lower).

Oxidant Test: Several oxidizing adulterants claim to clear all positive drug test results. The most common oxidizing adulterants are nitrite (Klear™), chromate (Urine Luck™), iodine, bleach, and horseradish peroxidase (Stealth™).

No discussion about the faint lines.

Your entire workflow from specimen labeling to reagent testing to result reporting is done in an automated process and validated through Controls.

There is no room for human error, no visual interpretation on strips, no retesting and confirmation tests.

Let your chemistry analyzer do the work for you, not the other way around

10 minutes automated daily startup, at the end of the shift, simply wipe the surface clean.

Low maintenance: worldwide users reporting 1 or less service visit per year.

Disposable cuvettes: cross contamination can waste hours of work. You risk it every time you use permanent glass cuvettes. Besides, you save 20 minutes a day, not washing cuvettes.

Low profile cuvette design = less reagents

Load up to 108 samples and 42 reagents

Three sample racks for your convenience: two 9-position racks that can be adjusted for different aspiration heights and an 18-position rack for non-barcoded 7 ml tubes

Continues access to samples and reagents without interrupting ongoing analysis

    Simple and clear software interface

3 hours of walk-away time. Hours of productivity you can focus on other tasks.

Half the water consumption of other models at 2.5 liters of water per hour. Reclaim that deionized water budget and feel good about preserving the environment at the same time.
